Liam C.
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Liam Cooper and I was an English teacher at DD Dragon for two years. Living and teaching in China was the most exciting and rewarding experience in my life and it is something that I would recommend to anyone who has the opportunity. After graduating college, I wanted to travel. I had already spent some time in the MIddle East and, on the recommendation of a friend, I began looking for teaching opportunities in Asia. Originally, I only planned to spend a year in China, but I had so much fun my first year that I decided to stay. If you have no background in teaching or Chinese that's okay. I didn't either. Matt will be there to train you and help you out every step of the way. Also, each class will have a Chinese teaching assistant to help you with translation. I had never before considered teaching as a profession, but it was one of the most fun and rewarding jobs I've ever had. There is no greater feeling than seeing your students make progress due to your hard work, and the knowledge they gain from you will quite certainly have a positive impact on their futures. Life in China is a blast. Some of the people I met there I now count among my best friends. Matt is one of those friends. You will have plenty of time to travel on holidays and there are so many amazing places to visit. Some of my travels include a vacation to Seoul, a raft ride down the river in Guilin, snowboarding in northern China, as well as many nights spent exploring the nightlife in the nearby Shanghai. The bottom line is you are cheating yourself if you pass up this opportunity. It was the greatest experience of my life. China and my time there had such an impact on me that I hope to go back in the near future. That being said, suddenly moving to a different country with a vastly different language and culture can be scary. However, Matt and the rest of the great staff at DD Dragon will make the transition as easy and as smooth as possible. Sincerely, Liam C. |
