Required: 6 bowling pins, 6 rings, bean bags
Icons:
1: Put Rings around Pins
2: Kill Pins with Body Part
3: Race around Pins
4: Bean Bag Wars
5: Touch all Pins
6: Choose Game +100
Students roll the dice to see which game is played. The teacher then chooses one student from each team to complete. All of these games are very simple and fast, so each time a game is played, multiple races can be done in under a minute. The winner is awarded 10 points.
The pins are setup at the beginning of class in a circle with 3 pins in front of each team. If at any point during class a pin is knocked down the other team is awarded 10 points. Pins knocked down during game play is OK and expected.
Games:
1: Put Rings around the Pins: One student from each team is given 6 rings. When the teacher says go they must race to put one ring around each of the 6 pins. If they knock down a pin they must pick it up and resume play. The first student to be back in their seat is the winner. To play a quick second round the teacher can choose 2 students to race to pick up one ring from each pin and then sit down.
2: Kill Pins with Body Part: One student from each team is chosen to play. The teacher then designates a body part that the students must use to knock over the 3 pins in front of them. (3 pins in front of each team… In the picture it is an orange yellow and green pin for each team) The student that knocks the pins over with the specified body part and gets back to their seat first is the winner. Amusing body parts were nose, head, elbow, shoulder, stomach, Pony tail…
3: Race around Pins: One student from each team must race around the pins in a circle and back to their seat. If it is too dangerous to run, the teacher can make it a crawling race or something more amusing. (Running backwards, jumping, crab walk…)
4: Bean Bag War: One student from each team is given 2 bean bags. The students stand behind their pins (Behind the yellow pins). Students then must throw the bean bags and knock over the opponents 3 pins. Students can run around to retrieve bean bags but must return behind the yellow pin in order to throw. First student to eliminate all the opponents pins is the winner.
5: Touch all Pins: Students must Race to touch all of the pins and then sit down. If a pin is knocked down they must pick it up, then continue to play. Obviously racing around doing this many children will knock down the pins. The first student to touch all pins, and get back to their seat is the winner.
6: Choose Game +100: The student gets to choose the game they wish to play. The winner of the game gets 100 points. (Instead of usual 10 points)
These games are fast, easy and fun. Great for any age.
