Icons: Star: Starting space, or choose a spot on the board game Juggling Contest: Game Ping Pong: Game Sniper Slam: Game Thief: Steal all points from the other team Students Roll the dice to move a playing piece around the board game. When students land on a "game" space, students compete to earn points for their team. Games: Juggling Contest: Depending on the age of the class there are many different ways to play this. Here are a few ways I played 1.) Each student tries to volley the ping pong ball as many times as possible in the air without letting it hit the floor. 2.) Each student tries to volley the ping pong ball as many times as possible in the air with their WEAK hand. 3.) Each student tries to volley the ping pong ball as many times as possible in the air over their head. (Hitting it high to reach over their head each bounce) 4.) Each student tries to volley the ping pong ball as many times as possible off the wall without letting the ball hit the floor. 5.) Each student tries to volley the ping pong ball as many times as possible while standing on one foot 6.) 2 students from the same team try to volley the ball back and forth as many times as possible. Students can play 1 vs. 1 with these contests with the winner getting 5 points, OR each student can have a try with the overall best winning 25 points *Each time students landed on this space I would change the style of juggling to make it more difficult Ping Pong: Students play ping pong on the floor grid. 1 vs. 1, students play to 3 points. The winner receives 5 points for their team. Each student gets a chance to play against someone on the other team until all students have played. *Students must hit the ball UP, there is no spiking in this game. *Students must stand outside the grid (Table) *I allowed students to challenge the teacher at the end of class for a large amount of points if they could win. Sniper Slam: Set up a bowling pin on a chair against a wall. Each student get a chance to try and hit a ping pong ball to knock over the pin from an appropriate distance. (4-5 feet) If a student knocks the pin down they are awarded 25 points. *Each student gets one shot. The teacher should give a 5 second countdown for each student to keep it moving quickly down the line |
