Below are the roles for the negotiation. Print and give to the students. Each student should get one role... A buyer role, or a seller role... Let students read over the information and answer any questions students may have. Remind students that their roles, and the information on their paper is a secret and not to disclose the information to the other person, but to use the information in order to get a better price on the apartment. Of course remind students that the buyers are seeking the lowest price possible, and the sellers are seeking the highest price possible. If the students cannot come to an agreement in a specified amount of time, then they have both lost the negotiation. After the negotiation is complete, ask the students what their final out come was. Price per month... items for landlord to purchase... other things added into the negotiation...
Tally the outcomes on the board and see who won! Best buyer... Best Seller... most interesting side negotiations besides price and so on.
Below is all the information to have a look to see if it is appropriate for your class.
As always be sure to remind students, that this is an English only exercise and to reprimand students for using their local languages appropriately.
