I use this in drills to push children to work harder. The playing piece starts in the middle and the board race ends when the playing piece reaches one of the team's stars. Every time a student does something well they may move the piece one space towards their star. When the team reaches their star they may be awarded points, or a chance to play a bigger game.
This can be used for anything whether it be doing vocab and the loudest or quickest students may move the playing piece. Question and answer, Grammar, or even with young children watching an English teaching video and allowing the students that are following along and doing actions to move the playing piece.
This is used for a quick 5-10 minute drill while teaching one aspect of your lesson. Vocab, Grammar, Spelling, Reading...
This drill also helps to push students to work harder in the classroom. The playing pieces start at one side of the race track and ends at the other side. The first team to finish the race is the winner and is awarded points or a chance to play a bigger game.
