Around the World
Required: Ball, Basketball hoop, Dice

Star: Starting position, Choose a board space
00:05: Game
2 Arrows: Switch Players or Points
Typhoon: Both teams lose all points
Basketball hoop (Around the World): Game
Setup:
Put a basketball hoop in the class room. Place 5 "X's" on the floor in a semi circle arc around the hoop at a distance that is somewhat easy to hit. (The outside shots will always be difficult so the distance doesn't have to be that great. Also you can always say how far behind the "X" to shoot easily.)
*I also put an "X" across the room for the 00:05 game. This is not technically needed as you could use the wall or a chair to run around.
Students roll the dice to move a playing piece around the board.
Games:
00:05: One student will start with a ball at the opposite side of the room of the basket. When the teacher says "GO" they have 5 seconds to run to the "X" in front of the basketball hoop and make a basket. (Can shoot multiple times if time permits) If the student makes a basket the 5 second countdown instantly starts again.(Teacher counting down loudly throughout the game) The student must then run back to the opposite side of the room and back and try to score again before time runs out. This goes on until time runs out. (Each time the student scores a basket the clock instantly starts again at 5. The student will be running back and forth to score baskets with only 5 seconds each time.) For each basket scored I awarded 10 points. (3 baskets =30 points)
*As this game is difficult I allowed 2 students from the team that landed on the spot to play

Basketball Hoop (Around the World): The first student from the team will start at the first "X" of the arc and attempt to score a basket. If the student scores, he/she moves to the next "X" to shoot. The shooter continues to shoot until he/she misses. Then the next student from that team resumes the game at the "X" that had been last shot from. This continues until the entire team has played. Each time the team moves around the arc, they win 25 points and then continue to play again from the first "X" position. Teams can play around the arc a few times to score 25-50-75… points. Each time an arc is completed, the students should stand a little further behind the "X" positions.
*As this is a shooting game, the Switch a player becomes very important to steal the best basketball players.

**This Game seems a lot of Fun for my older students (8-14), and I'm sure even young students would have a great time, as long as the basketball hoop was much lower, or even something like a circular bin on the floor.
