Students roll the dice to move around the board game. Each Game is a Face Off Between 2 students. The student that wins the competition earns a "Ball Point" for their team. The team that has the most Ball Points by the end of class is the winner.
Games:
Toe Touch Competition: One student from each team is given a ball. They have 20-30 seconds to alternate feet touching the top side of the ball with their feet (or toes). The students not playing must count for the person on their team playing. At the end of the time, the person that has completed more toe touches is the winner.
Wall Pass Competition: One student from each team is given a ball. They have 20-30 seconds to pass the ball against the wall as many times as possible. The students not playing must count for the 2 students participating. At the end of the time, the person that has completed more passes against the wall is the winner.
Corner Kick Competition: One student from each team is given a ball. They have 20-30 seconds to kick the ball against the board as many times as possible (the board is high off the ground, so they must chip the ball higher to hit the board, like a corner kick in soccer). The students not participating must count for the 2 students playing. At the end of the time, the person that has hit the board more times is the winner.
Soccer Shootout Competition: Using the soccer grid from the picture above that is under the board. One student from each team is given a ball. They have 20-30 seconds to kick the ball and score as many points from the grid as possible. The students that are not playing are adding up the points for the student kicking. At the end of the time, the student that has scored more points is the winner.
Basketball Shootout Competition: Put two stools against the wall as in the picture above. One student from each team is given a ball. They have 20-30 seconds to shoot the ball from a designated distance into the stools like basketball. The student that can score the most points is the winner.
*This game seems great for most ages and is funny even if too difficult. The idea of 2 people facing off in any kind of contest, and no matter how bad you lose the other team only gets one ball point, so its not a big deal to lose. Obviously I like soccer, but this can be changed to any kind of goofy face off competition if children are very young.
