1 vs. 1: Flag Game
1 vs. Team: Flag Game
Teacher vs. 2: Flag Game
Teacher vs. Class: Flag Game
Students roll a dice to move a game piece around the board.
Games:
1vs. 1: Arrange 2 chairs in the middle of the classroom about 4 feet away from each other. Choose one student from each team to play. Use a clothes pin or clip to attach a flag to each students back. Each student stands next to a chair. When the teacher says "Go" the students must run in a circle around the chairs and try to grab the flag from the other students back. The first student to grab the flag off is the winner. (award 20 points)
*If too easy, or it takes too long the teacher can yell a code word as in reverse, switch, or "MONKEY" where the two students then turn around and switch the direction in which they were running.
1 vs. Team: One team is all given a flag clipped to their backs. One student from the opposing team will have 30 seconds to grab all the flags from the students back's. If the student can grab all the flags they are awarded 20 points. If the student does not succeed then the opposing team wins 20 points.
*No students are allowed to push, or put their backs against the walls. If this happens they should be told to sit down, as they are "out".
Teacher vs. 2: The teacher will clip a flag on his/her back. 1 student from each team will be chosen to try to grab the flag off the teachers back as the teacher runs around. The first student to do so is the winner and is rewarded 20 points.
Teacher vs. Class: Each student is given a flag clipped to their backs. The teacher must grab the flags off the students backs. When a flag is taken the student is "Out" and sits down. The last student standing is the winner and is awarded 20 points.
*Students may not stand with their backs against the wall, If they do call them "Out" and move on.
*As these games can get a bit crazy, any student that is pushing or doing anything that may endanger themselves or other students should not be allowed to play. Any student that is misbehaving during drills or class should sit out for a game in hopes that they behave properly and can play the next game.
*If a class is too young then switch a difficult game to a more simple safe game.(1 vs. Team should only be played with older children, this can be switched out to something safer and fairer such as teacher vs. class or 1 vs. 1)
*I made flags by using thick tape and taping it to itself in 15 inch strips. Be sure to have enough for your largest class.
