Need for Speed Dice
Required: Dice
Roll the dice to decide which quick action game will be played. The first student to do the action can be the winner and awarded points, or the last student to do the action is the loser and the other team is awarded points. When the dice is rolled children should instantly do the required action. I played this with 3-4 year old children on their first ever English class and it went pretty well.
Games:
1: Gun Shots: Students make the shooting teacher action
2: Sleeping Man: Students all pretend to sleep on the floor
3: Cheerleader Jump: Students jump in the air with their hands up and make a silly noise
4: Shoe: Students take off one shoe and hold it in the air
5: High Five: Students give the teacher a High Five
6: Dice Hit: Students run to the dice, hit it, then return to sit nicely
This game is really simple and can be changed into a million different actions. It also is great because only a dice is needed. If you play where the last person to do the action is the LOSER, this pushes ALL children to take part. Good way to get shy or lazy children to take part. It also helps to tell children that this is a team game, if your team needs help, help them so they all work together.
