When I decided to head to China I was looking for a life experience that I would never forget. But I got more than I asked for. It all started when I was offered two separate jobs from DD Dragon branches. One choice I could go be the first teacher at the school. The other I would work with two other American teachers. I chose the latter and I can say the decision was one of the best I ever made in my life. Not only did I get the life experience I wanted but I made friends I still talk to on a daily basis from 6000 miles away. I taught students that I will never forget. When Frank( the current teacher that took my position) shows me pictures of our students I still can name them all to this day. I feel I will never forget anything about my time in China and DD Dragon Hangzhou had a lot to do with my great experience.
At my DD Dragon you never had to worry about being compensated, or not being treated fairly. The owner Sara is a very nice and fair lady that is a pleasure to work with. Matt the foreign teacher manager makes the transition as seamless as ever. He does everything in his power to help you out even letting me use his washing machine to wash clothes when ours temporarily broke! And if you’re having a problem transitioning to teaching in a Chinese classroom he will guide you in the right direction to being a great teacher in China. The school goes to great lengths to be not only fair but good to their employees. I loved my experience in China and I feel DD Dragon and the people I worked with made it more than I could have ever imagined. So you may ask now why did he leave if he liked it so much? Well I left to pursue my MBA which I completed, and now I am trying to find another job doing business in China. I have my friends and co workers to thank for engraving China in my brain now. Too add to all this, I HATE Chinese food( thank god for Pizza hut) but still love China and am looking to put my MBA to use in China ASAP! Seth B. |
